Originally from Leeds Peter Clarkson played his junior rugby at Corpus Christi and then signed for Wakefield. After spells at Huddersfield and Kent Invicta he came for Featherstone in the summer of 1983. A solid, hard-working second rower, Clarkson was on the fringes of the first team squad for four seasons. After finishing playing, he coached at East Leeds and was involved with the development programme at Leeds Rhinos.
