Biography
Local product Richard Gibson showed enough promise as a junior to warrant a run in the half-backs at the start of the 2000 season under coach Peter Roe. Partnering Jamie Rooney, he soon had competition for his place from new signing Andy Bastow, and Gibson came off the bench with some effect for a number of games. When Paddy Handley recovered fitness, Richard Gibson’s first team career was effectively over and the following season he moved on to Batley.
