Featherstone Rovers signed back-rower Richard O’Brien from Hull KR before he had played for the Robins and in his two seasons at Featherstone, put in some honest displays for the reserve team. He received the occasional first team call. When the move to summer rugby happened, O’Brien went back to Hull KR where he played three seasons more.
