Bob "Nocker" Noon was born in Pontefract but developed through the Featherstone juniors and was Rovers reserve hooker for most of the 1970s.  With international Keith Bridges the first choice and performing consistently, Noon's opportunties were limited.  Consequently he was a stalwart of the A team, a good clubman, an essential feature of the club in this era.
