Huddersfield Giants junior Robson Stevens had his pathway to Super League blocked, so he moved to Dewsbury for game time in the Championship. After 27 games there, he took the bold move of leaving the UK in 2023, and headed to Australia. He played two seasons in the Queensland Cup for Mackay Cutters and when he returned to England, he signed for Featherstone Rovers for 2025. With solid tackling and a good work rate, he played numerous games early in the season, before an injury set him back in April. He recovered form and fitness sufficiently well to work his way back into the matchday XVII before the end of the season. When he became a free agent after the financial turmoil at the end of 2025, Stevens joined Batley for 2026.
