Australian centre Rod Pethybridge had a career in the NSWRL at Penrith and Balmain before heading to England in the off-season 1985/86 to join Featherstone, one of four short term imports Rovers signed that season.  Although he only showed glimpses of his class at centre, he was perhaps the pick of the bunch. Unfortunately when coach Allan Agar was sacked, new man George Pieniazek released all four imports, and Pethybridge went to York for the rest of his stay.
