Newtown Jets prop Ryan Verlinden looked a big unit on his promotional videos and a handy signing for Featherstone’s pack for 2015. With the club’s quota limit full, Verlinden had to wait for his Irish passport to be processed before he could obtain a work visa. Thus it was May before he was seen in action. Struggling under the weight of expectation he failed to produce his best form and was quickly loaned out to Doncaster. He then had two more successful seasons at Workington.
