Samy Kibula was born in Kinshasa, in the DR of Congo, and grew up in Wigan, signing for the Warriors aged 18. In two years there, he played just one first team game for the club, and had numerous loan spells with different teams. From there he moved through various clubs to Castleford in 2024. With Rovers suffering a mid-season injury crisis, Kibula was signed of rest-of-season loan in July and made his debut at Wakefield. Given his size and mobility, he looked at useful addition to the squad, but had only two more chances as a substitute before his departure.
