Tongan International forward Sitaleki Akauola gained a reputation as an explosive running forward in the NRL and Super League before signing for Featherstone for the 2025 season. Born in New Zealand, he played four seasons with Wests and Penrith in Australia before coming to the UK to play for Warrington and Salford. After two seasons in the Championship with Toulouse, he started his Featherstone career with two tries on his debut, operating as an impact forward off the bench, running hard at tiring opposition defences. As the season progressed, his form suffered due to persistent injuries which took time to heal. Always a positive influence in the changing room, he showed better form and played longer minutes towards the end of the season. When the club went into administration at the end of 2025, Akauola left the club.
He won a single cap for Tonga, his heritage nation, against Papua New Guinea in 2014.
