Samoan international wingman Tangi Ropati had won eight caps for his country and played at the 2008 World Cup before he signed for Sheffield in 2009. Two solid years there and a year at Widnes brought him to Featherstone in 2012. His strong runs and whole-hearted efforts endeared him to the crowd. In front of a packed house in a Challenge Cup tie against Castleford he scored a length of the field try before having his jaw smashed in a disgraceful assault by Rangi Chase. He was out for 15 weeks before gamely seeing out the season. He later returned to New Zealand and built a career as a bodybuilder.
