Reserve team prop forward Tim Robinson had the toughest of first team debuts, away to Widnes in a midweek fixture. Rovers suffered a heavy defeat, and Robinson never got another chance. He was the younger brother of Rovers’ full-back Graeme Robinson, and later in life worked as a roofer based in Sharlston.
