After a successful debut season in the UK with Wakefield, Australian second-rower Toby Boothroyd switched to Featherstone for 2025. Originally from Sydney, he played his junior rugby at St. George and was on Cronulla's books when he came to England. He made an immediate impact with his strong running and eye for a gap. Unfortunately, the hamstring and knee issues that had plagued him at Wakefield came back to haunt him, and after just two matches he had a long layoff. In his second match back at Widnes, he grabbed a try but sustained another knock that saw him decide to head back to Australia. He was a talented back-rower who just had no luck at all with injuries.
