With Walt Tennant injured, Tom Edwards stepped up from the A team to make a creditable debut in a Yorkshire Cup tie against York. It was the first of ten games he played that year, appearing at stand-off and on the wing as well as his natural centre position. His final game, two years after his debut, filling in once again for a suspended Walt Tennant, was also a Yorkshire Cup tie, against Castleford.
