Tom Hemingway’s career started slowly after coming through the Huddersfield Academy set up and his first five years as a professional yielded little more than a handful of games on loan. In 2010 he played the full season at lowly Blackpool Panthers, hitting the headlines when he equalled an 85 year old rugby league record by kicking 22 out of 22 goals as Blackpool thrashed Gateshead. An astute tactical kicker he moved to Featherstone in 2011 to improve his game under half-back coaching experts Daryl Powell and Ryan Sheridan. Playing mostly for the reserves, he had a brief first team chance in May 2011, but that was all. Later in his career he served both Dewsbury and Batley with distinction.
