Tony Atha was a locally-based prop forward who came through the ranks at a very difficult time for young forwards. Feathertsone Rovers had undoubtedly their best ever pack, full of internationals and county standard players so he played most of his rugby in the A team.  He was part of the successful A team that won the Yorkshire Senior Cup in 1972.  After just six appearances in three seasons Atha moved to Batley for first team football.
