Doncaster stalwart Tony Miller sandwiched a long and successful career as a back-row forward with the Dons with two seasons at Featherstone. He came to a club haemorrhaging players following exclusion from Super League. He was used mostly off the bench at a time when match-day squads expanded from 15 to 17 players, and let nobody down with this hard work for Featherstone at a difficult time. Back at Doncaster in 1998, he played 220 games for them and later became head coach.
