Vic Rawes was a winger with exceptional speed who was signed in June 1961 for a Rovers' record signing on fee for a junior.  He made his first team debut versus Doncaster on 1st September 1962 and scored his first try against Batley three weeks later.  However, his career quickly faded, with just 11 appearances.  Alas he did not fulfil the promise he had shown and was transferred to Dewsbury in October 1965.
