After four NRL seasons at three different clubs, New Zealander Vince Mellars headed to England in 2010 to try his luck with then new Welsh Super League club, the Crusaders. A career that had begun with the New Zealand Warriors then took him to Wakefield 2012. Towards the end of his two year contract at Belle Vue he was released to finish the season with Featherstone Rovers. He played the rest of that season with some success inside winger Will Sharp, but Rovers failed to make the Grand final for the first time in four years.
