Watson Boas, the younger brother of Ase Boas, came over to England for the 2019 season. He was a Papua New Guinea international scrum-half with a number of seasons' experience in the Queensland Cup with the PNG Hunters. He made his international debut in 2016 and played at the 2017 World Cup. Despite a try-scoring debut and showing some promising touches, he struggled to establish himself as Rovers' first choice half-back and was loaned to Doncaster for the rest of the season. At the end of that season,  he starred for PNG in a win over England.
