Young prop forward Will Gardiner signed for Featherstone of a rest-of-season loan from Hull FC in March 2025. Short of fit front row forwards Gardiner was pitched straight into the starting line up for his debut at Halifax. Unfortunately, in the 9th minute he suffered a head knock, one of a number he had received in his career, and took no further part. Given that protocols meant he would be stood down for a number of weeks, the loan agreement was terminated.
