Born in Zaria, Nigeria, but raised in London, Will Sharp came through the ranks at South London Storm to make his debut for London Broncos (or Harlequins RL as then were then known) in 2008. After three seasons in the capital and then two years at Hull, Sharp found himself without a club in 2013 despite more than 100 Super League appearances. Featherstone Rovers took him on and 19 tries in 19 games was ample reward for that gamble in his debut season. An astonishing acrobatic effort to beat Sheffield to clinch a fourth successive League Leaders’ Shield was the most memorable of those tries.

In 2014 his 27 tries in 30 games made him Rovers’ leading try scorer for the year, and although the following year he was less prolific, he still scored one of the most bizarre tries of all-time, testament to his never-say-die spirit. The now world-famous brain explosion by Batley’s Shaun Ainscough after the final hooter gave Sharp the chance to race the length of the field in what looked like a lost cause to collect the stray kick by the opposition wingman and score a simply unbelievable match-winning try and to complete an astonishing comeback.

The following season he moved to Halifax where he played four more years and over 100 games.
