SHIRTS

For the first ever game as a senior club in 1921 it was chocolate and white.  The programme from that game against Bradford confirms this, however, most of the images we have from that era show Rovers playing in an all white strip.  At some point before World War Two the blue and white butchers stripe was adopted and it is that shirt most fans are familiar with as our traditional shirt.  When the game moved into the era of merchandising in the late 1980s then it became common to change the shirt annually with fans showing a willingness to buy the new shirt every year, generating a useful income stream for the club. It also allowed designs to change with the times and incorporate any changes to the club sponsors.

The display below (we think) incorporates all the shirts from the last 30 years but before that we know there are an unknown number missing.  If you can provide any additional images to add to the display then please get in touch.
