Featherstone struck first with a try from Gareth Moore. He put a grubber through to the left, which was collected by Greg Worthington, who offloaded to Jamie Cording before Moore regained it rolling over the whitewash. Then Andy Kain earned a dropout with his grubber, prior to selling a dummy and stepping inside to double the lead. The Cumbrians then hit back with Ryan Shaw's kick bouncing awkwardly for Ian Hardman, allowing Dalton Grant to claim it and bring his side into the game. Rovers responded, with Cording running the ball on the final tackle. He offloaded it to James who charged over and forced the ball to the ground with four opposing players attached. Undeterred the home side then gave their fans something to cheer. Liam Harrison burst through the line then gave the ball outside to Max Wiper to score.
Kain's aerial bomb was over ran by both Sharp and Mendeika, leaving them powerless to stop Grant from catching and speeding away upfield for a length of the field try. This clearly angered the Rovers, as they regained possession from the kick off and looked to assert themselves on the opposition. They brought the ball left with some intricate play from Kain, and Worthington was sent over the whitewash. The pressure continued with Kain's kicking causing havoc amongst the Raiders defence, and when Kyle Briggs was taken out off the ball, a third successive set had been earned. The ball was shifted out to the right, where Kain gave a short pass to Hardman steaming in from the back. The fullback then went low in between two defenders and forced his way over. Rovers' dominance was unyielding; the play this time going out to the left, where another Cording offload sent Hardman in for his second of the afternoon.
Following a quick play through several hands the ball was switched right for Will Sharp to scorch 40 yards up the touchline to score in the corner. Hardman's contributions continued as he turned provider for the next score. He stormed onto an inside ball from Kain and raced up the middle to draw the fullback to feed the supporting Andy Ellis on his inside. At this point a lapse in concentration appeared to occur, as Ryan Shaw made a mockery of the defence which was still organising itself to defend a tap on the Barrow ‘twenty', as he skipped through the line and accelerated away for consolation try.
