Rovers scored early when Greg Worthington provided the offload to send Ben Hellewell in at the corner. They were unable to take advantage however, and Quentin Laulu Togagae was able to step inside and mesmerise the defence. Dominic Brambani added the extras to level the scores. They then took the lead when Gareth Owen darted over from acting halfback.  Rovers responded and Keegan Hirst charged in, compressing the defence. Play was then swiftly brought left, allowing Worthington to crash over in the corner. Sheffield extended their lead with two tries by Jordan Burke and QLT.

After the interval Ellis sent Matt James busting through to score. Rovers were in the ascendancy and once more it was Ellis who brought the ball along the line, then sliced through the defence. He then curved his run to the left and gave out a long pass which allowed James Mendeika to level the score. With a quarter of an hour until the hooter Mendeika was caught just short of the whitewash. The field position was not wasted however, as after being awarded a penalty for offside Briggs elected to kick and gave his side a two point lead. The comeback was complete.

Not content with their margin the visitors continued to hammer the Eagles line. Ellis proved the catalyst again, an inside ball was met perfectly by Briggs. The hooker then put Ben Hellewell in to complete his brace.
