Dean Parata scored four tries as Featherstone Rovers romped past Dewsbury Rams to stretch their winning run to nine matches, and in doing so record their best-ever start to a league season. Craig Hall also helped himself to a hat-trick as part of a 36 point haul, as Jake Webster's men ran in 11 tries and recorded their joint-highest points tally of the campaign so far. The concession of four tries for the first time was only a small blemish on an otherwise impressive afternonn that saw them rip through the Rams - who have now lost five of their last six - time and again in devasting fashion. Rovers’ other tries came from Craig Kopczak, Gareth Gale and Luke Cooper. Dewsbury’s tries came from Bayley Liu, Tom Garratt, Reiss Butterworth and Lewis Carr, with Liam Finn landing four conversions.
Rovers were only 20-6 ahead at the break but any hopes of an unlikely Dewsbury comeback were extinguished within three minutes of the restart when a Tom Holmes ball steal sent Will Dagger on a break, and on the next play Gareth Gale got over with a penalty try awared. Hall added both kicks and when Flemming was sent to the sin-bin for holding down Parata shortly afterwards Rovers had rattled up 24 points without reply before Dewsbury could reply.
