Rovers recorded a twelfth consecutive league victory and maintained intact a 100% league record, despite making  four changes to the team; Loui McConnell, Harvey Spence, Jake Sweeting and Jimmy Beckett replaced Thomas Minns, Jack Bussey, Craig Hall and Dean Parata. Nu Brown opened the scoring for Rovers, the recipient of a James Harrison pass that saw him fly in under the posts.  Dane Chisholm added the conversion in what was the start of a dominant opening half for the visitors. Despite periods of pressure, Rovers’ defence remained resolute and kept the Widnes attack at bay.   Featherstone extended their lead from the boot of Dane Chisholm, a penalty goal awarded for a high tackle.  Three minutes later, Connor Jones burst through the Widnes defence to score from dummy half, Chisholm again adding the extra two points.

Despite shutting the hosts out in the first half, Widnes struck back on the fiftieth minute, Kenny Baker crossing the whitewash for the men in black before Ste Tyrer added the conversion.  It seemed to be going pear shaped for Rovers when Widnes scored back-to-back within three minutes, Deon Cross the scorer, Tyrer’s missed goal attempts left the hosts trailing by four points.  Despite being on the back foot, Rovers wrestled for control of the game and capitalised on the hour mark, Nu Brown going in for his second try of the afternoon, Dane Chisholm again adding the wo points.  With a ten-point lead maintained, the team seemed to draw composure that saw them take control of the game, a hat-trick try from Nu Brown and a cleverly worked try for Gareth Gale in the final ten minutes put the game beyond doubt, both tries converted effectively by Dane Chisholm.
