FEATHERSTONE IRRESISTABLE

Featherstone Rovers are going great guns just now.  They followed up their big victory at Halifax by a very convincing win at home against Salford.  From the first the Rovers had the match well in hand.  J.Denton gave them the lead very early with a penalty goal, and a try.  Reeves, who was making his first appearance this season, after nearly a year's absence, scored a great solo try before the interval.

Salford, for whom Clegg, the full-back played a great game, improved materially in the second half, but they were soon spent, and for almost all the time they were on the run.  This half was marked by a brilliant try by N.Tait, the new winger from Woodlesford.  He ran nearly half the length of the field, kicked over the full-back's head, and beat him for repossession.  James Denton's individual contribution to the victory was eleven points.  The Featherstone pack played finely, and of the backs the two Dentons, Kirkham and Tait often shone brightly.
