This return league game was played at Highfield today before a small attendance. Playing with the wind, Highfield were aggressive early and a vigorous forward rush carried play close to the Featherstone line.  Hurest was heavily tackled a yard short of the line, following a splendid effort by Mitchenson. A free kick for a scrum infringement eventually removed play to the halfway line, and several scrums were hotly contested.

After five minutes play, Highfieid opened the scoring through Langshaw, who grounded near the corner flag after a splendid run. S. Green failed at goal. Keeping up the pressure on the visitors Langshaw was just held two yards short.  A minute later Hurst dropped the ball with a splendid chance increasing the lead.  However, after offside play by the home forwards, Featherstone levelled the score by a good try after good passing movement by the Featherstone backs. Kirkham grounded at the corner. No goal was kicked.  Barely had two minutes elapsed before Highfield again were ahead Langshaw scored his second try for Highfield and Spencer next scored after charging a kirk. Greer kicked the goal.  At half-time it was Highfield 11 points Featherstone 3 points.

A more even contest occurred in the second half.
